Here some tips how to pack boxes, so movers can organize fast and smooth moving process

1.Pack boxes no more than 30-50 pounds.

2.When a box is full close the lid and seal it with the tape.

3.Do not over fill your boxes.

4.Put heavy things like books in SMALL boxes. Large boxes are for lighter items.

Chests and dressers are best emptied. If item is light enough to handle with two movers, it is OK to leave things in the drawers as long as they are not breakable or spill able. (make sure that company do not insure staff in drawers in case of lost or damage)

During the moving process movers often have to flip and tilt furfure. To prevent items damage office desks are best moved empty.

For clothing nothing can beat a wardrobe box (our company provide these). However, you can use regular large size boxes instead.

When packing, plan ahead and think where you will want these items at your new place. It is most efficient to move each item only once. Plan where to place each piece ahead of time and we’ll place each item exactly where it goes, so you’re not moving things around and searching for items while you unpack. Mark boxes and furniture with their destination room, so we can put them where they go

Please arrange for a parking spot in front of your house or building for your moving truck, especially if you live in a densely populated area such as Adams Morgan, Georgetown or Old Town Alexandria. It would be best if you could get temporary No Parking Signs from your local police to keep these spots open for us. You must request these four or more days in advance. Even if you don’t get the signs, it is helpful if you can park your car in the space closest to your door so we can put the truck there.
